This plug is a plug specially designed for attaching insulation panels of expanded polystyrene (EPS), mineral wool (MW), shaped polyurethane (PUR), extruded polystyrene (XPS) and expanded cork to A, B, C, D and E type base materials with or without plaster, mechanically to a surface or base material (wall or facade).

It has European approval ETA 21-0823 for fixing of external thermal insulation composite systems.

About this item

A hammer-fix plug designed to mechanically secure external wall insulation (EWI) boards to solid masonry, brick, or concrete substrates — used alongside adhesive bonding for a secure, long-lasting fix.

The plug consists of a durable polypropylene (PP) sleeve with a steel nail centre pin. Simply drill through the insulation board into the wall, insert the plug, then hammer the nail home to expand the sleeve and lock it firmly in place. Quick and straightforward to install, with no special tools required beyond a drill and hammer.

At 6mm diameter and 60mm length, this is a shorter fixing suited to thinner insulation boards and solid wall backgrounds. Pair with a load-spreading spacer washer for best results on softer board faces.
