Rendering in the Cold?
This £7.99 Bottle Speeds It Up

Lakma Speed Tynk: render and paint down to 0°C, rain-resistant in 6–8 hours.

£7.99 per 250ml

Winter is hard on renderers. Short days, cold mornings and damp air mean render takes days to dry instead of hours. One surprise shower or overnight frost can wash out or ruin a whole day's work. Many jobs simply stop until spring.

Lakma Speed Tynk changes that. Add one bottle to a tub of render and it sets and dries much faster, even on cold, damp days.

What Is Speed Tynk?

Speed Tynk is a ready-to-use setting accelerator for Lakma renders and facade paints. ("Tynk" is Polish for render.) It helps water leave the render faster, so it sets and dries more quickly, without weakening the finish or changing how it performs.

Why Use It?

  • Render down to 0°C: works from 0°C up to +10°C
  • Rain-resistant in 6–8 hours: protected against showers and sudden temperature drops much sooner
  • Works in damp air: effective up to about 80% humidity
  • No loss of quality: doesn't reduce the performance of the render or paint
  • Simple to use: one bottle per 25kg tub, just shake, pour and mix
  • Keep working through winter instead of waiting for spring

What Can You Use It With?

Speed Tynk is designed for the Lakma range of renders and paints, and we stock the full Lakma range:

  • Acrylic, silicate, silicate-silicone and silicone thin-coat renders
  • Acrylic, silicate and silicone facade paints

Speed Tynk is formulated for Lakma products. For other brands, check with the manufacturer first.

How to Use It

  1. Shake the bottle well.
  2. Add it just before use: the full 250ml bottle per 25kg tub of render, or 100ml per 10 litres of paint (1% by weight).
  3. Mix thoroughly with a paddle mixer until fully blended.
  4. Apply as normal. Setting time will still depend on temperature and humidity.

Speed Tynk helps, but the basics still matter

Even with an accelerator, never render onto a frozen, frosty or wet wall, and keep your tubs frost-free overnight. Speed Tynk shortens the risky drying window, but good preparation and a sensible weather check are still the best protection for your work.

Trade tips

  • Use Speed Tynk in every tub on one elevation so the whole wall dries evenly and the colour stays consistent.
  • Only mix in what you'll use. Add it to each tub just before application.
  • Keep a few bottles in the van from October to March for those borderline days.
  • At £7.99 per tub, it's cheap insurance against a washed-out wall.
